Monster Hunter Rise: How To Climb Walls And Ledges

Updated Date :

If you have not yet played the demo, or just started playing Monster Hunter Rise, you might be a bit confused about the climbing mechanism. With the inclusion of few new features like wire bugs to traverse the game world vertically, and a new animal companion called a Palamute to ride, climbing walls is something similar to previous games but yet a bit different in the new version. So here’s everything you need to know about how to climb walls in Monster Hunter Rise.

How to Climb Walls in Monster Hunter Rise (MHR)?

To climb walls in Monster Hunter Rise, you need to just run up to walls and ledges with ropes, vines, handholds, etc. If the wall has no such structures, you can use Wirebugs to attach to them and do a wall run using your stamina bar. The normal climb using ropes, vines, handholds will not use your stamina.

The new addition to the game is a mountable animal called a Palamute. While riding your Palamute you may face run towards a wall or a ledge and by pressing R you can easily climb it. This method does not consume your stamina, and Palamute is faster than your character in traversing the map, including walls.

If a wall or other structures are equal to or lower than your chest level it’s considered a short wall. These short walls can be automatically jumped over while running towards its direction. If the cliff or ground height is more, use your wirebug to attach and pull yourself to the walls and start wall running as mentioned above, by pressing ZL + X.

Monster Hunter Rise will be released on Nintendo Switch on March 26, 2021. A Microsoft Windows version will be released in the early to mid-year of 2022.
