Fallout New Vegas is available for free for a limited time on the Epic Games Store and players that have claimed it are looking for ways to mod it. But to the disappointment of many of them, the mods don’t seem to work with it. And this raises the big question of whether it supports mods. Here is everything you should know about modding the EGS version of Fallout NV.
How to Mod Epic Games Fallout New Vegas?
At the time of writing this article, you cannot mod the Epic Games version of Fallout NV. But don’t worry there is a mod known as the “Epic Games Patcher at Fallout New Vegas” that you can find at Nexus Mods. Using it you should be able to mod the Epic Games version of it.
But currently, there is a problem with it as well, its author has set it as hidden. On its page it shows “The mod has (possible) permission issues that the author is working to address.” So until this patcher gets fixed or if someone else makes another mod or similar patcher for the EGS version of Fallout New Vegas. You won’t be able to use most mods.
Why Can’t you Mod Fallout New Vegas?
The main reason you can’t mod this game is that most mods require you to have NVSE installed. NVSE or New Vegas Script Extender is used by most mods to work. So as long as this script extender is not working with the Epic Games version of Fallout New Vegas all the mods that rely on it won’t work either.
And there are a good number of mods that require you to have NVSE installed so for the most part most mods won’t work at the moment.
Will No Mods Work for this Game?
No, mods that don’t require NVSE should hypothetically work with Fallout New Vegas of EGS. Some of these mods are:
- Weapon Mods Expanded – WMX
- More Perks
- The Couriers Cache
These are just some of the popular mods that should work without NVSE. You should find more such mods on the Nexus Mod page of this game.
That’s all you should know about if you can use mods with Epic Games Store Fallout New Vegas. If you are interested in other things about this game then you should also check our guides on the best hardcore mode builds and how to fix failed to initialize renderer error.
