Unfortunately, the only way to resolve this issue is to wait for a while. Although waiting endlessly can be frustrating and annoying, it is the only reliable way. We suggest players be patient and stick around.
Players are facing two issues when they select the Account Merge. As players hit the Account Merge in the queue option, their place resets. So, if you are placed somewhere around in the hundreds, this issue can put your number in the thousands. For some players, the queue did counter-reset to normal. The second issue is that the game prompts the message to restart to complete the account migration. But when the players do restart, they have to start from scratch again. You can try logging out of the game and then, logging in with your account again. Regardless, you won’t lose any progress or items as confirmed by Blizzard.
While this can be extremely frustrating, Blizzard has acknowledged account merge issues on their Twitter account (link) and recent bug report (link). Furthermore, Blizzard also stated that they were aware of the lengthy account migration queues. And added that they are ramping up the capacity to move it faster. We hope Blizzard resolves these issues in their upcoming updates or patch.
