Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020: How To Active Pause

Updated Date :

Microsoft Flight Simulator has hit the airports and pilots are way busy exploring the world. It is no surprise that users would want to take screenshots of beautiful landmarks that they come across while playing the game. Microsoft was wary of this situation and has made it possible for the gamers to take screenshots while in mid-flight. This is done with the help of Active Pause. If you are not aware of how to Active Pause in Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020, you are at the right place. This guide will walk you through what is Active Pause and how to perform it while in the aircraft.

How to Turn On Active Pause in Microsoft Flight Simulator

Active Pause is an in-game feature in Microsoft Flight Simulator that allows players to pause the screen in mid-flight. It is different from simply pausing the game and viewing the menu. With Active Pause on gamers can simply take screenshots of all the landmarks they encounter on their way and add them to their collection.

Fortunately, for all of us, performing Active Pause in the game is quite a simple task. All you need to do is press the pause key from your keyboard. It is mostly located on the top right corner of the keyboard beside the Print Screen button. Once Active Pause is on, you can simply adjust the camera settings to get the perfect frame that you want to capture.

After taking the screenshot or taking the break if you would want, go back to the Cockpit or external camera mode and simply press the pause button again and the game will resume.

Performing Active Pause in Microsoft Flight Simulator is pretty simple from a PC, but that is not the case with Xbox One controller. Doing Active Pause through Xbox One is not possible as there is no specific button assigned for the feature in the controller.

That’s how you perform Active Pause in Microsoft Flight Simulator. If you want to take some beautiful screenshots, we recommend changing the weather to your preferred one. This will get you the best of images according to your preference. You can also try out different aircraft available in the game.
