What Does Mic Up Mean In Roblox? (2022)

Updated Date :

Many Roblox games require you to ‘talk’ to other players to complete objectives. There is a chat system that you can use to type and discuss things with other players within every game. But if you want to level up your communication skills, you can try to mic up with friends. What does mic up mean in Roblox, you ask? Here’s what you need to know.

What does Mic Up Mean in Roblox?

roblox mic up meaning voice chat

The term “Mic up” basically means that you need to use a microphone while playing. So, if a player is asking you to mic up, it means that they want you to talk by using a mic on a platform such as Discord while playing the Roblox game. Friends can come together on a Discord server and communicate with each other in this way while enjoying the game together.

In case you end up chatting with strangers, be careful, because people can be pretty aggressive in the voice chat. Some might ask you to “mic up” in a rude way and if you refuse, they might say that you are ‘too scared to chat with them on Discord’. This usually happens in games that have a toxic community. If you do decide to go ahead with it with strangers and get some mean responses, Roblox will not be able to do anything about it. That’s because this exchange will occur on a third-party platform and not Roblox itself.

Now, in case you don’t want to use the external voice chat options, you can simply press the / key on your keyboard to open the chat window. This is the in-game chat and players can’t use abusive words here. That’s because Roblox filters out inappropriate content and there are various safety settings in place. Since the majority of players are young teens and children, it’s crucial that communication is safe for them.

But if you do decide to try out voice chat and mic up in Roblox, then as mentioned above, it means you have to use Discord for voice chat with them.

That’s everything about the meaning of mic up. In case you are curious to know more about Roblox, check out our guides on Gamer Tweak.
