Step 2: Get Coal

Step 3: Build the Furnance
In the Minecraft, you can build the Furnace with the help of 8 Cobblestone blocks in the crafting menu. Be sure all the blocks should be filled except the middle one to make the Furnace.
Step 4: Use Furnace to Turn Cobblestone into Stone
If you have managed to build a furnace, you will need something to put into it. You should know that Coal is a good source of energy for the furnace and it’s abundant so we will use the coal that we found above and put it into the bottom slot of the furnace.
In the top slot, you’re going to want to put the Cobblestone that you have leftover. After putting both the item in the furnace, you will see that flames are burning and that signals that the Cobblestone is being turned into Stone.
Step 5: Turn Stone into Smooth Stone
In order to get Smooth stone, you will have to take this a step further and repeat the exact same process. You will take the Stone that you have created in your first run with the furnace and then add coal and the result will be Smooth Stone.
