Who Is The Main Character In Hades 2?

Published Date :

If you are about to pick up Hades 2, you might wonder who the new main character is. Since it is a direct sequel it is easy to expect the protagonist to be Zagreus, but the reveal trailer instead showed a girl. Things get confusing because we see Hades being caught and saying “Time cannot be stopped.” This raises a ton of questions about where she came from, what her name is, and more. These questions are all valid regardless of whether you know the bare minimum about Greek Mythology or if you are coming from God of War games or maybe read the Percy Jackson books. But let us not digress, this is who Melinoe is.

Who is the Protagonist in Hades 2?

The main character in Hades 2 is Melinoe. Also known as Princess of the Underworld, she is the younger sister of Zagreus and the daughter of Hades and Persephone. In this game, Hecate (the Goddess of Witchcraft and Necromancy) saves her and trains Melinoe to become a Witch. She has been trained to be strong enough to be a titan slayer, which is important as she has to face Chronos the Titan of Time if she wants to save her family and Olympus.

Melinoe’s Appearance in Hades 2

Melinoe being a demigod, has a very human-like appearance. Her left hand glows green possibly indicating her powers being related to witchcraft. She has one Green/Golden eye while her other eye is Red in color. Melinoe has short blonde hair adjusted in a Laurel Wreath headband with a Crescent Moon on the front. Her outfit consists of an orange/saffron-colored dress accompanied by a neckbrace, waistband belt, and other accessories for her arms and legs. She carries a Sickle and a Dagger typically as her choice of weapons.

Who is Melinoe in Greek Mythology?

Melinoe is a Greek Nymph who is also known as the bringer of nightmares and madness. Her origins in the mythology are complicated as some believe her to be a daughter of Persephone and Zeus (who took the form of Hades) and not Persephone and Hades. The same is also true for Zagreus. She was born at the mouth of the River Cocytus.

Her appearance is described as half her body being black while the other is white. She would wander the earth at night with her army of ghosts and instill fear into the hearts of men.

That pretty much sums up everything you should know about the new main character of Hades 2. If you have just started playing the game and are looking for help on some basics then you can check our guides for it on how to increase Grasp, farm Bronze, and get Shadows.
