Monster Hunter World Latent Power: All Levels & How To Activate

Published Date :

Monster Hunter World offers a wide range of skills for players to choose from. Each skill grants you buffs and abilities that will aid you on your hunt against different monsters in the game. Among the many skills available, Latent Power in MHW is one skill that you might find interesting and with great perks.

However, in contrast to the majority of skills, it requires certain conditions to activate. This makes Latent Power in Monster Hunter World somewhat difficult to understand. Additionally, you may need to know which armor, decoration, and charms provide you with the skill in the game. So if you want to know all about the skill and how to activate it, then here is everything you need to know.

Latent Power in Monster Hunter World is a skill that increases Affinity by a certain percentage while reducing stamina depletion simultaneously. Raising Affinity in the game will help you increase the weapon’s chance to deal bonus or penalty damage. Similarly, reducing stamina depletion will help you perform various tasks such as dashing, attacking, dodging, or climbing quite effectively.

There are 7 levels for Latent Power in MHW, each with an increased percentage of Affinity and stamina depletion. Here are all the levels and their properties in the game:

  • Level 1 – Increases Affinity by 10% while reducing stamina depletion by 30%
  • Level 2 – Increases Affinity by 20% while reducing stamina depletion by 30%
  • Level 3 – Increases Affinity by 30% while reducing stamina depletion by 50%
  • Level 4 – Increases Affinity by 40% while reducing stamina depletion by 50%
  • Level 5 – Increases Affinity by 50% while reducing stamina depletion by 50%
  • Level 6 – Increases Affinity by 50% while reducing stamina depletion by 50%.
  • Level 7 – Increases Affinity by 60% while reducing stamina depletion by 50%.

While players can increase the Latent Power by stacking up different pieces of armor, you will be able to do it till level 5 in Monster Hunter World. To unlock levels 6 and 7, players will need the Latent Power Secret which is available for players in the Iceborne expansion pack.

How to Activate Latent Power in MHW

As mentioned before, players will need to meet certain conditions to activate Latent Power in the game. The first five levels of the skill require players to take a total of 180 damage to activate it. The skill will also be automatically activated after 300 seconds have passed since the hunt has begun or since the players last deactivated the skill.

It is worth mentioning that the increased affinity and reduced stamina depletion effects will last for around 120 seconds in MHW. That being said, levels 6 and 7 reduce the amount of damage required to activate the skill to 130 in the game.

Several armors, charms, and decoration sets provide you with Latent Power in Monster Hunter World. One of the most common charms that grants you the skill is the Power Charm. Here are some of the armor sets with Latent Power in the game:

  • Kaiser Alpha Armor
  • Kaiser Beta Armor
  • Kaiser Alpha Armor+
