Last of Us 2 would have marked the end of the seven-year wait that fans of the first installment in the series. Sadly, this has been delayed as Last of Us 2 has been delayed indefinitely by Sony until the end of the COVID-19 pandemic. Sony had plans to release Last of us 2 in February 2020 but it got delayed as the developers wanted to iron out all the bugs and give the players errorless gaming experience.
This new release date was set to 29th of May 2020 which now Sony has delayed again citing that due to the global virus pandemic, they won’t be able to give a similar gaming experience to a huge part of the world and will release the game on a newer date.
As the announcement was made, it dismayed a lot of fans of the series, as fans have been eager to learn more about Ellie and Joel. This father and daughter like team of the two really enchanted the audiences in 2013 and are set in a world ravaged by a zombie virus and Ellie seems to be immune to the virus.
While seeing how the world has been brought down due to a different virus, it would have been in bad taste to release the game only for a section of fans. The second major worry is the lack of physical copies as shipping has been halted globally.
Sony wrote on their social accounts that they too are disappointed with the decision but it is something that has been done with a lot of reasoning behind it.
Update: SIE has made the difficult decision to delay the launch of The Last of Us Part II and Marvel's Iron Man VR until further notice. Logistically, the global crisis is preventing us from providing the launch experience our players deserve.

The developer behind this epic tale Naughty Dog too revealed on Twitter about their decision and that they are looking forward to releasing the game as soon as possible.

Along with Last of Us 2, Iron Man VR too has been delayed until further notice, this game would have you suit up as Iron Man in a VR experience, giving you a glimpse as to what it is like to be Tony Stark in real life.
We will keep you updated about both these titles, but as of right now, no other game developer has come out and publicly say that they are delaying their game release.
