How To Get Large Snowflakes in Animal Crossing New Horizons?

Updated Date :

For those with islands in the Southern hemisphere, winter is here! Since Animal Crossing New Horizons is very up-to-date with all the seasons of the real world, of course, it has added the ability to experience cold winter too. From June 11 to August 24, folks with Southern Hemisphere islands will be able to get snowflakes which is a winter-special material. Here’s how you can get Snowflakes in Animal Crossing New Horizons. This guide covers information about large snowflakes as well as the regular ones. Let’s begin!

Snowflakes in Animal Crossing New Horizons

Do you wanna build a snowman? Well, you have to, if you want to get the large snowflakes. Here’s how to do it.

When snow falls all over your island, the ground will be covered in it. You will also notice snowballs that you can actually put to use. What you need to do now is move and roll these snowballs. You must create two big snowballs of almost the same size – one for its head and one for its body. As soon as you roll one snowball into another, a “perfect snowboy” will be made.

How to Get Large Snowflakes?

Once you have made the snowboy, all you have to do now is to talk to him every day for the next four days, that is, until he melts. This will give you a large Snowflake.

These large Snowflakes will be useful to craft many frozen items including Frozen Arch, Frozen Chair, Frozen tree, Ice Flooring, Frozen sculpture, Ice Wand and lots more. So, go ahead and start making the perfect snowboys.

How to Get Regular Snowflakes?

There are also regular Snowflakes that you can get your hands on in the game. They will be floating in the air so keep an eye out for them. When you see a snowflake, bring out your net and swing it just like you do to catch a bug. That’s it, you will have the snowflake.

If it isn’t winter on your island then you can time travel to get to this season. If you don’t know how to do that, check out our guide on how to time travel in ACNH. In the Northern Hemisphere, winter season will be from December 11 to February 24.

So this is how you can get normal snowflakes and large snowflakes in Animal Crossing New Horizons. For more useful tips and tricks, be sure to read our ACNH Wiki.
