Is Makima Evil in Chainsaw Man Anime?
From the events of the Chainsaw Man anime, it doesn’t seem like Makima is an evil character so far. She is introduced as the highest-ranked Devil Hunter who meets Denji. While providing him with a reputed job in Public Safety, she also gives him food, shelter, and a better life. Even though she calls him his pet dog, Denji instantly falls in love with her due to many reasons.
But as it turns out, Makima is truly evil and the major antagonist of the Public Safety Arc. Her kindness is a charade to blend in with the humans, and devils, especially with Denji the Chainsaw Man. While we won’t go into the details to spoil the entire arc, you might want to know if she is a devil or a human.
Is Makima a Devil or Human?
Till now, it has not been revealed whether Makima is a devil or a human in Chainsaw Man anime. However, chapter 75 of the manga reveals that Makima is a Control Devil. Being one of the four Horsemen, she embodies the fear of control and conquest. As the saying goes, don’t judge a book by its cover. What makes her scarier is the series of abilities and the Devil contract she has.
While it is almost impossible to kill her, she cannot be fatally killed or wounded. Due to her contract with the Prime Minister of Japan, all the fatal damage received was transmitted to the Japanese citizens. So, it’s safe to say she might be the strongest devil in the Chainsaw Man.
Here are the following abilities and powers she possesses:
- Regeneration and Healing
- Controlling Alive and Dead People
- Mind Manipulation
- Invisible Power Projectiles
- Can Attack Remotely
