Wondering how to add, join, or invite friends in Splatoon 3? This guide is for you.

Splatoon 3 is the third installment in the Splatoon series. While in the Splatlands, you will join forces either with fellow Inklings or Octolings depending on your choice. Although you can enjoy this multiplayer even on your own, having one or two of your friends will make you enjoy the game. Splatoon 3 is an upgrade on the previous Splatoon games in terms of user experience. The game mechanism for multiplayer with friends has drastically improved. This implies that you can add, join, or invite friends in Splatoon 3 much more easily. In this guide, we will show you how to do it while in the game.

How to Invite & Play with Friends in Splatoon 3

Splatoon 3 Add Join and Invite Friends

While the game mechanism has certainly improved when it comes to inviting friends, there are still a few things that you will need to remember. Here’s how to Invite Friends & Queue with them in Splatoon 3:

  • While in the Shoal in the Lobby, open the match menu by pressing L and then you will see two options under the Game Mode.
  • One will be Solo and the other one With Friends.
  • Use the D-Pad to head over to With Friends after you select the game mode you want to queue with friends in Splatoon 3.
  • Once you press A, you will be able to play with friends who are online by inviting them.

How to Join Friends & Create a Room in Splatoon 3

When you create a party, you can ask your friends to join it and then play on the same team. Since inviting a friend is not sufficient to get on the same team, this is the best thing to do. Here’s how to Join Friends in Splatoon 3:

  • Again head to the Lobby and then open the match menu by pressing L.
  • Next, select the Private Battle option and then press Y to create a room in Splatoon 3.
  • However, if you want to join your friends instead of creating a room, you need to pull up the match menu and then use the D-Pad to toggle to the With Friends option.
  • Once you do that, you will be able to join any of your friends who are online in the Splatlands.
