Phasmophobia: How To Identify A Yurei

Published Date :

Phasmophobia is a multiplayer ghost investigation game with multiple ghosts lurking around. These ghosts can easily be distinguished by their characteristics and the traces they leave behind. Moreover, different ghosts have different strengths and weaknesses that make it easier to spot them. Yurei is one such ghost wandering around the haunted houses in this game. It is said that this ghost has returned to the human world especially for seeking revenge as it is full of hatred. If you are finding it difficult to spot this ghost, then this guide is for you. Here’s our guide that features some major key points to identify a Yurei in Phasmophobia.

How to Identify A Yurei in Phasmophobia

How to identify a Yurei in Phasmophobia

This ghost mainly causes a loss of sanity to the in-game character. It is possible that you may lose about 15% of your sanity when you’re in the 7.5-meter range of a Yurei. Also, the lower the sanity, the most likely you are about to get attacked by a ghost. Being an investigator in the game, identify a Yurei by using these points:

  • When the Yurei uses its ability to drain sanity, the doors nearby shut. Moreover, a Yurei shuts the door faster than any other ghost.
  • Other ghosts can only close a door that is half opened. However, a Yurei has the capability to slam a fully opened door.
  • If you experience something paranormal around you, just open every door near you. If the door gets slammed and you lose your sanity by almost 15%, then there’s a Yurei around you.
  • In addition, a Yurei also has the ability to shut a front door. No other ghost can do that outside of a ghost event. They are also capable to shut the door even when you are outside the house.
  • To collect evidence of the ghost, the following criteria should be fulfilled:
    • Ghost Orb – These white orbs can be spotted using a video feed like a night vision camera.
    • Freezing Temperature – The presence of a ghost causes a sudden fall in temperature in the room. It is possible to notice this by using a Thermometer or by seeing the cold breath coming out of the in-game character’s mouth.
    • D.O.T.S Projector – It is a device installed on a wall that captures the motion of a ghost nearby.

That is how you identify a Yurei in Phasmophobia. If you found this article helpful, then make sure to check out our Phasmophobia guides that showcase steps to identify an Onryo and Myling.
