Dead Rails is a survival game on Roblox where you must make the most of the harsh lands packed wtih zombies, vampires, and even werewolves. One of the most exciting features introduced recently is the ability to tame wolves—converting these wild creatures into helpful allies. Here’s everything you need to know to successfully tame wolves in Dead Rails and boost your chances of survival.
Where to Find Wolves
Wolves in Dead Rails most commonly spawn in the wild areas of the desert between forts. They usually appear in packs of three to six, and occasionally you might even come across a werewolf lurking among them. If you want to tame the wolf in this situation, your friends/team members can take down the werewolf, while you go ahead and start the taming process.
How to Tame Wolves in Dead Rails
The key to taming a wolf in Dead Rails is simple: feeding them a corpse. Here’s how to go about it:
Collect a Corpse: In the game, corpses can come from various enemies, such as zombies, horses, or even another wolf. Always keep a few corpses handy in your inventory, because you can also turn in the Outlaw corpses for extra cash. However the most common enemy that you will see would be zombies, so go ahead and use them if you don’t need them for fuel.
Approach the Wolf: When you spot a wolf, carefully approach it. Wolves are naturally hostile and will attack you on sight if they’re hungry. So, it’s best to do this with some friends who can handle the attack for you. If a wolf becomes aggressive before you’re ready, use distractions or distance yourself until it loses interest.
Offer the Corpse: Once close, hold a corpse so the wolf can eat it. Soon, its behavior will change from hostile to friendly.
Repeat if Necessary: If you’re aiming to tame an entire pack, make sure you have enough corpses to feed each wolf individually. Timing is important because the wolves may start fighting each other as they feed.
Stay Prepared if you’re Playing Solo: Always carry extra corpses if you’re playing solo to ensure you’re ready for unexpected wolf encounters.
Watch for Werewolves: Werewolves cannot be tamed using this method, so if you encounter one, it’s best to avoid it or kill it first.
Once made friendly, wolves can be stored in your inventory for later use and also welded to your train. They’re particularly useful for protecting you during night battles or while taking on enemy camps, like your very own aggressive pets.
Tamed wolves in Dead Rails reduce the pressure on you during encounters where you’re swarmed and can help you attack from a distance or escape the situation. So, if you get the chance to tame them, it’s best to go ahead with it.
