Many new players are confused about how to save progress in Diablo 4 during beta. They are worried about their character and all the weapons and armor they collect. So for all the new players, we will explain everything you need to know about saving in D4. So let’s get started.
How to Save in Diablo 4
Diablo 4 will save your progress in real-time during your gameplay and require an active internet connection. All your progress will be safe in the D4 server, even till the last action you did in the game. So there is no need to do anything manually from your side.
This feature applies to loot you picked, items you salvaged, sold, and even the enemy counts you slain. But the real-time location of your character in the game is never saved in the servers. This means every time you restart or log in to the game, you will start at the main town.
If you exited your game in the campaign or story mode, your last quest progress would be saved. You will not be teleported back to the part of the dungeon or location you were playing in. But the game also has a checkpoint system. If you die during the gameplay, you can revive at a recent checkpoint instead of your corpse. This is very useful to avoid tricky situations, like if too many enemies surround you.
Beta Save Progress
Once the main thing to understand about the Diablo 4 beta is that all characters created over these weekends will be erased after the beta period. However, progress will carry over from Early Access to Open Beta weekends. This is because the devs are still changing the game, and many features are subject to changes during this development phase.
But don’t worry; all three Open Beta rewards will be available in the main game after launch if you have unlocked them. Here’s how to get them:
- Initial Casualty Title: Obtained by reaching Kyovashad with any character
- Early Voyager Title: Obtained by having one character achieve Level 20
- Beta Wolf Pack Cosmetic Item: Obtained by having one character achieve Level 20
