The Realm of Shadow is filled with secret locations and areas that might appear on the map, but reaching the site of graces in those areas can be a bit more tricky than the base game. One location that keeps showing up on Twitch streams is the Cerulean Coast, a place filled with unique enemies, hidden items, bosses, and much more. But before you can set foot on its fields of bioluminescent plants, you must navigate the Ellac River, another important area in the DLC, acting as the gateway to this Cerulean Coast if you follow our suggested pathway. So here’s how you can reach Cerulean Coast in Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree.

The Starting Point: Castle Front Site of Grace
We start at the Castle Front Site of Grace near Castle Ensis. We’ll take a detour to find the Cerulean Coast instead of entering the castle.
Head South: Through Camps and Swamps
Head southeast from the Castle Front Site of Grace, following the winding path. You’ll encounter enemy camps along the way; choose to fight or sneak past them. The landscape becomes a treacherous swamp filled with poisonous plants and enemies as you continue.
Two Paths to the Ellac River
You can use the swamp or find a hidden passage to reach the Ellac River.
Option 1: Through the Swamp
Cross the swamp while avoiding enemies and poisonous plants unless you’re prepared and ready to use most of your resources. Eventually, you’ll descend a slope and reach the Ellac River.
Option 2: The Hidden Passage
For a safer route, look for a hidden tunnel entrance near the cliff base on the swamp’s west side. Inside, you’ll find the Ellac River Cave Site of Grace.
Following the Ellac River
Crossing the swamp or using the hidden passage, you’ll arrive at the Ellac River Cave Site of Grace. Follow the river downstream, but be cautious, as waterfalls and gaps will test your skills.
Riding Torrent uses its double jump ability to leap from rock to rock. If you fall, don’t worry; there are Sites of Grace along the way to rest and retry.
Reaching the Cerulean Coast
You’ll find the Ellac River Downstream Site of Grace as you move forward. Be ready for what comes next. You’ll see big, golden sheep in a secret field. Be careful because these enemies use lightning. There’s also a scary Giant Fire, but it’s best not to fight it if you are not ready yet. Keep going with the river until you find a hill that goes up. This is the last hard part before you get to the beautiful-looking Cerulean Coast.
