Some DPS characters allow for more offensive close combats and have abilities that deal quick but heavy damage. Some examples of these are Tracer, Genji and Reaper. However if you’re someone who prefers ranged combats and have quick reactions, you could opt for Widowmaker as she is a sniper.

You should use these abilities, especially ones that let you boost to a higher plane. This gives you an off angle to shoot from that your enemies would find difficult to defend or retaliate to.
Switching DPS Characters
Being a DPS main, you may try to rush into an enemy’s territory to frag out but this also increases your chances of being eliminated the most. If some character is not working out for you, it is recommended to switch things up. OW2 even allows you to keep 30% of Ultimate points upon switching heroes.

This is one of the most important aspects of any FPS game and it is usually one of the DPS players’ responsibility. Flanking or also known as ‘backstab’ involves sneakily going behind the enemy lines and eliminating their Support players or Flank-watchers.
