In the Northern Expedition update, the developers added the Summit Rod in Fisch which has a high max kg stat and the other stats are decent as well. Here’s where to find and get this end game rod in the new location of Frigin Cavern. Before heading there, make sure you already have a Glider.
Fisch Summit Rod Location
To get to Frigin Cavern and purchase the Summit rod, you need to visit Northern Expedition which can be spotted when you’re exploring the Ocean on your boat. Go towards the left side of the island, jump onto the glaciers, and use the ladder to climb. Keep using the ladders and going upwards until you see the Overgrowth Caves location.
Keep in mind that the Temperature mechanic comes into the picture here. There’s a blue bar and an orange bar — they indicate your Oxygen level and Temperature/Heat respectively. You can regenerate heat by standing next to a campfire nearby. Make sure you purchase the Beginner Oxygen Tank (3,500C$ at the Overgrowth Caves) and keep going without stopping to reach the destination.
After this, follow the route marked by the ladders (it will be a long journey) and when you see a bunch of orange tents, refill your Oxygen, get your heat up, and purchase the Summit Rod in Fisch for 300,000C$. The rod is located near the Intermediate Oxygen Tank in red.
It is a steep price but if you don’t have the Rod of the Depths (which costs C$750,000 and requires a quest to complete), you can consider getting this one which comes at half the price. To give your Summit rod a boost, you can enchant it with Resilient, Quality, Abyssal or Swift/Hasty.
This is also where you can get the Heavens Rod but there’s a long process to do before you can purchase it. To make travel in this region easier, buy the Advanced Oxygen tank for 25,000C$ at the Glacial Grotto. You can keep refilling the Oxygen which will help you explore the area for longer.
If you don’t have 25KC$ yet, you can opt for the Intermediate Oxygen Tank (available for 10,000C$ at the Frigid Cavern), You can also buy the Winter Cloak which costs 7500C$ to keep you warm. It’s located at the coordinates X: 20173, Y: 335, Z: 5724.
Since the path can be confusing, here’s a video that shows the entire route to follow:
