How To Get The Flimsy Shovel In Animal Crossing New Horizons

Published Date :

Animal Crossing New Horizons focuses a lot on collecting resources and for that, you will need to dig deep and break things to get to them, this requires tools and one of the most versatile tools is the flimsy shovel. This guide will show you how to get the flimsy shovel in Animal Crossing New Horizons.

How To Get The Flimsy Shovel In Animal Crossing New Horizons

Sadly though, the flimsy shovel isn’t available at the start in Animal Crossing New Horizons, and it makes you work a bit to get your hands on this tool. Once you have it though, the entire game starts to open up as explore more.

  1. To get your own flimsy shovel you will have to talk to Tom Nook, in the introductory phase of the game, he will offer you to create a DIY workshop. You will then need to go to the Resident Service Center and create the workshop.
  2. Once this is completed, you will be able to create anything you get the recipe for. This includes a fishing rod and a ton of other stuff. He then mentions that he wants to see anything you catch. This is your cue to catch 5 fish or bugs and give it to Tom Nook.
  3. Once you hand over your catch to Tom Nook, he will receive a call from Blathers, the director of All Animal Crossing Museums stating he wants to open a museum on your island.
  4. The next part that you have to do is create space for Blather’s tent for this arrival. Just like you did with your own tent, find a suitable place for Blather’s tent and this is where his museum will be. Once you do this, wait for an entire in-game day.

Blathers will make his way to his tent and now you have to enter his tent as he will be waiting to talk to you. Blathers talks about having exhibited in his museum but understands that it would be impossible for you to find one without a shovel.

Blathers will then proceed to give you the recipe for the shovel along with the recipe to create a vaulting pole so that you can cross over the river. All you have to do now is go to the Resident Service Center and create these things.

For the shovel you will require the following things:

  • 5 x hardwood

You can now go and collect more materials by hitting your shovel against other things and collecting what drops off. This is all there is to know about how to get the flimsy shovel in Animal Crossing New Horizons. For more updates, tips and tricks on ACNH please check our Animal Crossing New Horizons Wiki guide.
