There are various mutations in Grow a Garden, but one is highly sought-after by players and that’s the one that ‘shocks’ your fruits. The Shocked mutation is popular because of its multiplier, and while it does not stack with Wet, Chilled, it can provide great value on its own. Here’s how to get Shocked crops.
How to Get Shocked Fruits in Grow a Garden

The Shocked mutation is based on a thunderstorm, which is a random weather event in the game. At the time of writing, it cannot be triggered manually with any item so players will have to wait until it happens.
During this weather, the map becomes slightly foggy, and lightning strikes from the skies randomly. It will also land on your garden, and if you’re lucky, your most valuable crops will get hit. That’s when you can check the fruits—they should have electric sparks coming off them indicating that they have the Shocked mutation in Grow a Garden.
Lightning strikes every 4 to 5 seconds and thunderstorms also have a50% chance to apply the Wet mutation to crops.
Why is ‘Shocked’ so valuable?
The multiplier that a Shocked mutation gives your fruit is 50x, making its value significantly boosted compared to its base sell price. Apart from that, the plant gets a neon look with electric particles which makes for eye-catching sections in the garden.
Another reason why Shocked fruits are relatively rare is because the Thunderstorm weather has low chances of occurring. You will see rain more often in comparison. The thunder will only last for 1 minute so make sure you have purchased the Lightning rod to direct it towards the most profitable plants. The rod itself has a low chance of being in stock in the gear shop, so whenever you see it, make sure to grab it for future advantage.
Once you get Shocked fruits in your inventory and want to save them, make sure to favorite the items to prevent accidentally selling them while cleaning up your inventory.
