Energy Chew is a prismatic gear added during the Chubby Chipmunk Event in Grow a Garden. Its main use is simple but powerful: it resets the ability cooldown of one selected pet. In short, if your pet has just used its special ability and is waiting for the cooldown, using an Energy Chew lets it be ready immediately, so if you have a highly rare or sought-after pet with a unique ability, this item will be very useful. Here’s how you can obtain it.
How to Get and Use Energy Chew in Grow a Garden
Energy Chew isn’t sold in the regular gear shop. Instead, it’s tied to the Chubby Chipmunk Event and can be earned by meeting certain weight thresholds for the Chubby Chipmunk pet. There are multiple available on the Reward track, and the weights to achieve are 2.15 kg, 13.65 kg, or 36.48 kg.
This can be done naturally by having the pet in your garden and letting it feed on the fruits to gain a small amount of weight each time. If you submit crops to the central event area and fill the bar with the required points, you can begin Nutty Fever, which is an event where the Chipmunk performs its ability every 30 seconds. This will speed up the weight gain process by quite a bit.
To use an Energy Chew, simply select it from your inventory and target the pet whose ability you wish to refresh. The cooldown resets, and you can immediately trigger their ability again. Visually, it is shown as a cyan energy bolt and due to its use, it’s one of the high-value gears that you need to use at the right time. It’s scarce so use it only when you’re sure.
Things to keep in mind
- Don’t use your Energy Chew as soon as you get it. Save for moments where immediate ability reuse offers a big advantage such as during an Admin Abuse event.
- Use it on high-impact pets rather than on support pets with lower effect.
