Now that the ‘Cooking event’ is over, the game still requires you to cook items for various tasks like feeding NPCs. It can get confusing because there’s no cooking table seen on the map, however, there is a Cooking kit that you need to unlock in order to cook food items. Here’s how to get it.
How to Get the Cooking Kit in Grow a Garden
The Cooking Kit is unlockable via the Achievements mentioned in the Garden Guide.
- First, find the guide in your inventory by searching ‘Garden Guide’.
- Open it up and click on Achievements on the menu on the left.
- Then click on Explore next to the Core Plants button.
- Look for the Common Achievements. As you can see in the screenshot below, the rewards are a Cooking Kit, and x5 Silver Common Seed Pack.
- The tasks to complete this achievement can be gradually completed as you play, but if you want to unlock it right away, you must:
- Shovel 100 Plants
- Harvest 200 Carrots
- Gift 1 Carrot
- Sell 500 Strawberries
- Gift 5 Strawberries
If you don’t have Carrots or Strawberries in your garden, you can buy them from the seed shop whenever they are in stock. Shoveling 100 plants can be tricky if your garden has all the valuable plants. But if you have space, you can buy lower rarity seeds, plant them and shovel those.
After unlocking the Cooking kit, you can use it to craft food. We have a list of all the recipes you can use with the help of various crops. The cooking kit can be placed via the cosmetics icon at the top left corner of the screen.
To use it, equip the ingredient in your character’s hand and add it to the pot and once all items are added, click on the Cook button.
The heavier a plant is and the more ingredients placed in the pot, the longer it will extend the pot’s timer. Moreover, adding mutated plants boosts the likelihood of passing on a mutation from the ingredients used in cooking.
