How To Fast Travel In Final Fantasy 16

Published Date :

One of the first things the game teaches you is how to fast travel in FF16. There are many main and side quests awaiting Clive, and getting to them on foot isn’t the most optimal way to go about it. And considering how beautiful Final Fantasy 16 looks, you will be wanting to explore different regions not just for the story but also for its visuals. And luckily the process to unlock fast travel isn’t very hard and here is how you can do it.

How to Fast Travel in Final Fantasy 16 (FF16)

FF16 how to Unlock and Use Fast Travel

To start fast traveling you first need to unlock the feature by completing your combat training (tutorial) with the Lord Commander. Don’t worry this won’t take much time and it even happens in the early section of the game.

Once you are done with the Tutorial session, the game will proceed to show you a cutscene where the Archduke will ask you to meet him. Talk to him to get your first mission and after another cutscene, the game will teach you fast travel works:

  1. Open your map by pressing the Menu button on your controller. Press L2 or R2 to get to the map tab. The game will show you your current location and all the places where you can go.
  2. Move the cursor to the location where you want to go.
  3. Press and hold the X button.

And that’s all you need to do to Fast Travel.

When to Use Fast Travel in FFXVI?

As the game progresses, you will be using Fast Travel to get to your next objectives. But after you get a few side quests you can also use it to get back to the previous regions to do them.

Final Fantasy 16 isn’t exactly an open world, so you won’t be fast traveling to specific areas in a region. Rather you will be using it to get to the different regions. So if you are looking for ways to explore the region you already are at then you have two options. First is to run on foot, and the second is to also ride a Chocobo.

With that, you know everything about Fast Travel in FF16. You should also check out our Final Fantasy 16 section for other guides on this game.
