The Octophant in Fisch is one of the unique Limited fish available in the Animals Update. Described as a “massive creature with strong tusks, sifting the ocean floor with ancient grace,” this hybrid creature has some special requirements in terms of bait, weather and season. Luckily, it’s an easy catch! Here’s everything you need to know.
Where and How to Find the Octophant in Fisch
The Octophant is obtainable exclusively from the Octophant Hunt in the Second Sea. It is a time-limited event held during the Animal update, which runs from April 5th, 2025 through April 19th, 2025.
This special event may appear when a Tempest Totem is activated, similar to how Whale migrations are triggered. You will see a notification at the top of your screen. When it spawns, an Octophant appears with a protective bubble. Players need to fish near it 25 times to break the shield before the Octophant becomes available to catch.
Despite its massive appearance, the Octophant is designed to be an easy catch, although players should be note that it inflicts a -5% progress speed decrease while being reeled in. Compared to most other fish, this is a very small reduction, so catch it should be very easy no matter which rod you’re using.
To make things easier, use the Golden Worms bait which is an exotic bait obtainable from the AFK mine. You can grind for it overnight or when you’re at school/work and use it to catch the Octophant in Fisch during Clear weather in Summer.
Here are the bait’s stats:
- Resilience: +45%
- Lure Speed: +20%
- Preferred Luck: +200%
- Universal Luck: +100%
If you haven’t unlocked Second Sea yet, there’s a string to objectives to complete beforehand. In a nutshell – get to level 250 and talk to the NPC in Terrapin Island and gain access to the Crypt of the Green One. Get inside the arena but note that you have to fight the Cthulhu boss here, which will need some friends/fellow players. Once you beat him, you get transported to the Second Sea where you can access your boat to explore all the islands.
