Now with the addition of 40 sea creatures, I am getting to learn a lot more, like the existence of the Giant Isopod. Do you want to know all about this creature and how to catch it easily? Then keep reading our guide on how to catch a Giant Isopod in ACNH.
Tips to Catch the Giant Isopod in Animal Crossing New Horizons
The time of the year to catch the Giant Isopod is as follows:
- For the Northern Hemisphere islands, it is from July to October.
- For those in the Southern Hemisphere, it is from January to April.
Its spawn timings are from 9 pm to 4 am and from 9 am to 4 pm. But, here’s the thing. Catching this Giant Isopod in ACNH is a very tough task because it is so fast. Since you can only dive for a short period, this creature will easily get away when you come up to breathe. But there are a couple of tricks you can use.
The first trick is to slowly swim over it and reach close enough to quickly dive and grab it. If you keep swimming fast behind it or even chase it underwater, it will flee. So, the knack is to behave just like you do for bugs – creep up on it and catch it fast. This is very similar to how you would catch a scorpion.
There is another trick that players are using and that is to corner it near a net. Keep swimming behind the large shadow until you bring it towards a net area where it will stop moving. Then go ahead and catch it.
Once you have the Giant Isopod, you can donate it to Blathers’ Museum or sell it. You will get 12000 Bells for all your hard work of catching this creature.
