Idle RPG games can always be addicting, but when you have one that is also visually beautiful, you will want to experience it with others. As such there are several players who are trying to add friends in AFK Journey to explore the world of Esperia together. Sadly, the one place where magic doesn’t follow you is when both players are on a different server. So no matter what faction you might be in, you won’t be able to play with them. But regardless of whether you just started or have already made some progress, here is what you can do to add friends in this game.
How to Add Friends in AFK Journey
If you haven’t started the game yet, or if your friend is about to create a new character, make sure you and your friends are on the same server. At the time of writing this guide, you can’t add friends across servers, to fix that you can switch characters. We will check how that works in a bit but for now, here are the steps to add them:
- Open the game and go to the World Map.
- Tap or click on the menu icon with three lines on the bottom right corner of the screen.
- Here, select Friends.
- Next, click on the Add Friends button with the silhouette and plus icon.
- Enter your friend’s account number here and send them the request.
After they accept it you can play with them. You can check your account number on the bottom right corner of the screen by clicking your Avatar icon at the top left. Copy it and send it to your friend so that they can search for you or you can ask them to do the same.
How to Change & Choose a New Server
Do note, that this method doesn’t transfer your existing character to the new server, but rather creates a new one. You can check our detailed guide for it on how switching servers works, but for now here is its quick overview:
- Go to the World Map and open the menu.
- Click on the cogwheel gear icon.
- Go to the Others tab.
- Under the Account Service section, choose the Character Switch button.
- Here, choose Create New Character.
- Now, ask your friend what server they are playing on before you confirm the creation.
Start the game and you can now find, add, and play with them.
