How Concentration Works In Baldur’s Gate 3

Concentration is related to the magic spells that spellcasters use in the game. Follow this guide to know how concentration works in Baldur's Gate 3.

Have you seen the Harry Potter movies? You probably would have. When any of the characters used magic spells in the movies, he or she used to hold on to their sticks while performing them. They didn’t just cast the spell and then left it to linger. The same is true with Baldur’s Gate 3. Whenever spellcasters cast any spell in the game, some of their magic tricks need their complete focus. That’s where concentration comes into the picture in Baldur’s Gate 3. In this guide, we will walk you through how concentration works in Baldur’s Gate 3.

Baldur’s Gate 3: How Concentration Works.

Suppose a spellcaster in the game tries to summon fog, he or she needs to ensure that the spell remains active through the combat. If the concentration breaks the spell will dissolve and the spellcaster has to again show his abilities to cast the spell. The same will continue until the spellcaster can concentrate on the spell. That’s how concentration works in Baldur’s Gate 3.

Some of the spells do not require concentration and you can distinguish them by hovering over them. Just above the range will be the mention of whether the concentration is required or not.

When you use a concentration required spell, a small outline will show on the top left corner of your party group icon. This will show how long the spell would last and whether the spellcaster is concentrating or not. If the concentration breaks, the outline will disappear along with the magic.

Concentration is also required by some abilities like Hunter’s Mark that can be used by a Ranger. Ranger is a minor spellcaster class and while using abilities like Hunter’s Mark if their concentration breaks, they will have to resummon the spell.
