Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 has finally been released and features plenty of game modes. If there’s one thing that is bugging some players is that they are unable to find any hardcore modes. Does COD MW2 Have Hardcore Mode? (Tier 1 Explained)
The answer to that question is No, Modern Warfare 2 does not feature any hardcore mode as of now. But according to its blog post, it will feature the Tier 1 playlist. This mode will feature as hardcore for COD MW2. While it was supposed to release on the launch, it is not available in MW2 currently. However, the silver lining is that Infinity Ward tweeted that it will be available soon. Although it is a bit uncertain when will it be launched, you can enjoy and grind on other game modes like Prisoner Rescue, TDM, Knockout, and more.
Coming back to the Tier 1 playlist, it will be a lot more challenging than the traditional multiplayer. All the operators will have comparably lesser health and limited HUD elements. On top of that, it will also have friendly fire turned on. So, beware of random teammates that can shoot you simply for fun. All these elements would be featured in all the game modes that support the Tier 1 playlist.

When is Tier 1 Playlist (Hardcore) coming to COD Modern Warfare 2?
The Tier 1 Playlist or Hardcore mode will go live with the launch of Season 1 in MW2. Its release date is set for November 16, Wednesday. This was confirmed in the recent update of their official blog post.
So, the anticipation and the wait for Hardcore mode will finally be over for the community.
