The Guardian Gate can be found once you reach the Sovereign’s Refuge in Baldur’s Gate 3. However, since the exact location is hidden, players are often confused regarding where to find it. In BG3, if you have have defeated the Duergar Intruders and returned back to the Sovereign’s refuge, finding the Guardian Gate and getting the promised rewards is all that is left for you to do. Since the Gate is camouflaged, most players miss it on the first time. In this guide, we will help you get to the Guardian Gate and collect the rewards.
Do Note – Before you report back to Spaw, you could meet Glut who will try to convince you to kill Spaw. If you kill Spaw you won’t have access to the Guardian Gate in Baldur’s Gate 3. On the other hand, killing Glut will result in Spaw being pleased and opening the Guardian Gate in BG3.
Guardian Gate Location at Sovereign’s Refuge in Baldur’s Gate 3
Defeating the Duergar Intruders is a side quest in BG3. However, it’s extremely rewarding once you get it done. Once you complete your task and defeat the intruders in the Underdark, you will get the sub-quest, Reach the Sovereign’s Refuge. All you have to do is make your way back to Sovereign Spaw and he will tell you that the Guardian Gate is now open and you can claim the rewards. In Baldur’s Gate 3, the Guardian Gate is located to the West (right) of Sovereign Spaw and players will have to get close to the wall on the right and follow all the way down the slope.
As you head west hugging the wall, you will be able to find the small opening that leads inside the Guardian Gate. Players can also find a Deep Rothe animal standing close to the entrance. Once players enter the gate, they will find a Pale Corpse along with a bunch of other items along with a Backpack. The backpack contains a lot of valuable items that players can easily loot to make this side quest worthwhile.
