The Spooky Egg in Grow a Garden is one of those limited-time eggs that grants you several unique pets. They have some interesting abilities, and this is also where you can get the ultra-rare Headless Horseman. Here’s how to obtain this egg, the pets included with drop chances, and their passive abilities.
All Grow a Garden Spooky Egg Pets
The Spooky Egg is a legendary limited-time egg that can be purchased from the Halloween Market with Candy Corn. More specifically, you can get it from the Creepy Critters Shop. You can also earn it through special Halloween rewards like the Jack-O-Lantern event items. The egg has a hatch time of about 4 hours and 10 minutes, which makes it a bit of a waiting game but definitely worth it.
True to its name, the Spooky Egg gives off a ghostly vibe, with a white shell, dark eyes, and jagged black markings around its body. It’s currently a fan-favorite because it can hatch into several unique Halloween-themed pets, each with its own ability.
Spooky Egg Pet Drop Chances and Abilities
Bat – 45% Chance
The Bat is the most common hatch, but it’s far from boring. It grants Spooky plants in ~32 studs a variant chance bonus of ~0.7x.
Bone Dog – 28% Chance
Every ~76s, this pet can dig up a random seed, and it can even be exclusive to the Bone Dog. It’s not flashy, but if you love collecting rare plants, this pet is surprisingly handy.
Spider – 18% Chance
This one’s a bit of a wildcard. Every few minutes, it spins webs that slow down pet cooldowns but boost plant growth speed.
Black Cat – 8.5% Chance
Every so often, the Black Cat curls up for a “Witch’s Nap” near cauldrons. While it naps, fruits around it can grow up to twice their normal size.
Headless Horseman – 0.5% Chance
The holy grail of the Spooky Egg. The Headless Horseman can “haunt” other pets, resetting one of them to level 1 but giving it a powerful new mutation like Dreadbound, Soulflame, or even the Nightmare mutation. It’s risky but very rewarding if luck’s on your side.
