Unlike most open-world games of today, DD2 doesn’t let us travel to previously visited locations that easily. Its fast travel system is something we set ourselves on places we find important to do so. While there are a few fixed spots for the Dragon’s Dogma 2 Portcrystals, they don’t work with gold. It needs a specific kind of item that would be hard to collect, making us rely on the foot more than the portal. While that is what developers intended, it is better to understand where, when, how, and what you must do to get and use these crystals.
What Are Portcrystals And Fixed Locations In Dragon’s Dogma 2
Portcrystals as the name suggests are portal crystals we use for fast travel. While they are permanent fixtures in populated cities and towns, they can also be placed at locations we wish to teleport anytime. As cities and towns are centers for travelers and merchants to gather, buy, and sell the products, it is no surprise that the crystals are fixed in there:
- Vernworth Portcrystal
- You will find this crystal around the Merchant Quarter, outside the building of the Grand Riftstone. Go near the crystal and use Examine to activate it.
- Harve Village Portcrystal
- The village is in the southwest of the Vernworth. Once you are there, you have to go near the shore and look for Rivage Elder’s Home. You will find the crystal around it. Just like the previous one, go close to it and use Interact to activate it.
How to Get Portcrystals in DD2
You will find these crystals at several places all over the map, similar to Dragon’s Dogma, and you also obtain it as a reward for certain quests. Additionally, you can purchase it with Wyrmslife Crystals from the Bay Wayside Shrine Shop. It will cost you 20 Wyrmslife Crystals to buy one.
Once you have acquired some Portcrystals through these methods, you can place them at the maximum 10 locations anywhere on the map. They are not fixed, so you can recover and move them whenever needed.
How to Use Portcrystals in Dragon’s Dogma 2
Each time you travel through the Portcrystal, it costs you 1 Ferrystone. These stones like the crystal itself are purchasable from the Bay Wayside Shrine Shop. Alternatively, you can buy them from various sellers and even find some inside chests. To use it, go to the Items and select Ferrystone. You need to then choose the Use option and select the location where you want to teleport.
That’s all you have to do to get and use Portcrystals in Dragon’s Dogma 2. Curious about the other game mechanism, check our DD2 section. We have covered topics like how to make potions and find your Pawns ID.
