Once Human: How to Get the Digby Boy Deviant and Uses

Updated Date :

Deviants in Once Human are creatures that you can capture and keep as companions to help you in your survival. Each Deviant type offers specific advantages, and The Digby Boy is a Territory Type that can mine ores while you’re off doing other important things. Here’s how to get your own Digby Boy in Once Human and how to use the friendly miner to gather resources near your base for crafting and more.

How to Get The Digby Boy in Once Human?

There are two main ways to find a Digby Boy deviant:

  • Mining: This is the most common method. You have a chance to get a Digby Boy by mining specific ores. Silver ore has the highest chance, followed by Tin ore. Some more deposits like iron, copper, and even sulfur nodes have a chance, albeit much lower.
  • Quest: Early in the game, you can complete a quest in Deadsville (the first settlement) that involves finding copper ore and leads to getting a Digby Boy in Throughville.

How to Use The Digby Boy Deviant Companion

Once you have a Digby Boy, you’ll need to build an Isolated Securement Unit to house it. This structure is unlocked early in the game and requires resources like 20x metal scraps, 15x copper ingots, and 10x glass.

Place the Digby Boy inside the Isolated Securement Unit. It will remain dormant until its power reaches 30 and this will happen automatically over time.

While the Digby Boy’s power recharges, you can improve its mood and efficiency by placing certain items near the unit:

  • Music: Play music near the unit to keep it happy.
  • Toy: Place a toy near the unit for another mood boost.
  • Temperature: Digby Boys prefer a warm environment. Build a red light near the unit or use other heat sources.
  • Power: Connect the unit to a 5-watt power source like a Solar Generator.

A Digby Boy in a good mood will work more efficiently, gathering more resources per “work cycle.” It will automatically head out from the base and collect ores near your territory so you don’t have to worry about directing it.

You can then collect the mined resources from the Isolated Securement Unit. Remember that the higher the Deviant Energy level, the more efficient the mining is. It will also use a Mining Operation Platform first if available.

With at least 3 Digby Boys in your base, mining ores can become a breeze because the more companions you have working, the faster you’ll gather resources. Keep exploring and activating Teleportation Towers so you can easily return to your base and collect mined resources from your Digby Boys.

This was everything on how you can get and use a Digby Boy in Once Human to automate mining ores in the game. For more tips and tricks like how to use the Wish Machinefarm Acid and repair your motorcycle, we’ve got you covered.
