How To Get & Use Skull Gems In Diablo 4

Skull Gems are the best way to boost your mid-game build in Diablo 4. While the first ones will be easy to farm after reaching Level 15, they do have a tendency to become scarce and as a result, many players are looking for it. If you have failed on numerous occasions to find Skull Gems, our guide will help you get them and use them to gain different attributes depending on which equipment you use them with.

How to Get Skull Gems in Diablo 4

Diablo IV Get Skull Gems

Skull Gems will drop once players defeat enemies in Diablo 4 or when they go through the chests in the dungeons. While a specific location is not necessary, the level of Skull Gems that you get depends on your current level. If you have completed the campaign and have already gone through Nightmare Dungeons and unlocked World Tier, you might get a Skull Gem that is rarer and more useful while playing.

Types of Skull Gems

Currently, Diablo IV has five types of Skull Gems that can be farmed or some crafted depending on your level. Here they are:

  • Crude Skull
    • Weapon: +2 Life On Kill
    • Armor: +3% Healing Received
    • Jewelry: +100 Armor
  • Chipped Skull
    • Weapon: +5 Life On Kill
    • Armor: +3.5% Healing Received
    • Jewelry: +125 Armor
  • Skull
    • Weapon: +8 Life On Kill
    • Armor: +4% Healing Received
    • Jewelry: +150 Armor
  • Flawless Skull
    • Weapon: +11 Life On Kill
    • Armor: +4.5% Healing Received
    • Jewelry: +175 Armor
  • Royal Skull
    • Weapon: +14 Life On Kill
    • Armor: +5% Healing Received
    • Jewelry: +200 Armor

How to Craft Skull Gems in Diablo 4

While Crude Skull is non craftable, the other Skull Gems can be crafted if you get the required materials. Here’s how to craft Skull Gems:

  • Chipped Skull
    • x3 Crude Skull
    • x4500 Gold
  • Skull
    • x3 Chipped Skull
    • x12500 Gold
  • Flawless Skull
    • x3 Skull
    • x18000 Gold
  • Royal Skull
    • x3 Flawless Skull
    • x50000 Gold

How to Use Skull Gems

Players can simply equip one of the Skull Gems to the empty slot in their equipment (depending on the buffs mentioned above) and then use them while playing. Depending on your need with weapons, armors, or jewels, players can get attribute boosts to take on difficult bosses or dungeons.
