Being a complex game, something as simple as finding seeds for farming can become an uphill task. Seeds are extremely crucial for your settlement’s survival as they’ll help you plant more crops. Whether you’re a new or an old player, our guide will help you out with how to get more seeds in Dwarf Fortress.

    Find More Seeds in Dwarf Fortress [Explained]

    Before you go on a quest to find more seeds in Dwarf Fortress, make sure you have enough bags to collect them. You should also be aware of the season cycle so that you always get the best yields. The Spring season has 3 months, namely Granite, Slate and Felsite. The Summer has Hematite, Malachite and Galena. The Autumn season on the other hand has Limestone, Sandstone and Timber. Lastly, Winter includes Moonstone, Opal and Obsidian.

    Get Seeds in Dwarf Fortress

    With that being said, let us understand the best ways to get more seeds in Dwarf Fortress:

    Brewing

    After you brew beverages at a Still, you will be rewarded with Seeds. Just ensure you have enough Barrels to brew drinks – these can be crafted at the Carpenter’s Workshop.

    Millstone

    After milling plants at the Millstone, you will receive Seeds in return. The machine can grind plants into sugar, flour, dye and can also reward you with Seeds.

    Processing at the Farmer’s Workshop

    Plants such as cotton, jute, pigtails will need to be processed for optimum use. After you send them for processing, you will be granted with Seeds in Dwarf Fortress.

    Trade

    The last option is getting seeds from a trade representative. However, this is a rare occurrence since the caravans have no fixed time of arriving at your fortress.
