One good reason that you may want to get S or S+ Rank in Resident Evil 2 Remake is that you will unlock infinite ammo weapons by doing so. This is a motivator in making you not give up on trying to achieve these tough-to-get ranks in RE2.

To get S and S+ Rank in RE2, you will need to race against time. This is the case in most Resident Evil games, which fans of the series might already know. Let’s look at both ranks separately and what is required for each.

How to get S Rank in RE2 Remake

To get S Rank in Resident Evil 2 Remake, you need to beat the game in a certain time frame. This time frame is different depending on if it is your first playthrough of the game or not. Note that Leon and Claire’s stories count as separate playthroughs. So, Here is how it works:

  • First Playthrough (‘A’ Scenario) – Complete the game in under 3 hours and 30 minutes.
  • Second Playthrough (‘B’ Scenario) – Complete the game in under 3 hours.

How to get S+ Rank in RE2 Remake

To get the S+ Rank, you will need to do most of the same as the S rank but now on Hardcore difficulty instead of standard. Keep in mind that in this mode, you can only manually save 3 times during the entire playthrough. Here are the time frames:

  • First Playthrough (‘A’ Scenario) – Complete the game in under 2 hours and 30 minutes.
  • Second Playthrough (‘B’ Scenario) – Complete the game in under 2 hours.
