In LEGO Fortnite, players will come across a lot of resources that will help them bolster their builds and weapons with better and more refined materials. The Rough Ruby is one such resource that you will stumble upon in the game. While unrefined, it might not be of much use but once you craft Cut Ruby from the resource, you will be able to use it in crafting items as well as weapons.
Mining Rough Ruby in LEGO Fortnite can be a bit tricky since you will need an Epic pickaxe to mine the resource properly. This makes focusing on other metals like Copper or Obsidian much more important to upgrade all the crafting and utility stations.

How to Get Rough Ruby in LEGO Fortnite
Similar to other materials, players will stumble upon Rough Ruby inside the lava caves in the desert biome. However, locating the Dry Valley can be quite the task in the game. We would suggest that you climb atop some hills or tall structures to spot the biome.
Once you come across it, simply travel towards it and look for a large pile of boulders. This is the entrance to the dark lava-filled caves. Before entering, as mentioned before, you will need an Epic pickaxe in LEGO Fortnite. Along with it, having a rare axe is useful to fend off enemy mobs in the game. Make sure you also have a Snow Berry Shake before entering to resist
After teleporting inside the cave, players will have to look for red ores on the walls of the cave. You will usually find them around lava streams and a long way inside the cave in the game. These are Rough Ruby ores and you will be able to mine them with a few hits of pickaxe. Once done, pick up the materials on the ground and head back outside.
How to Craft Cut Ruby in LEGO Fortnite
To craft Cut Ruby, players will need a Gem Cutter in LEGO Fortnite. You will have to first craft the Stone Breaker to unlock the recipe for the Gem Cutter. Once you have the recipe, here are the items required to make the station:
- x20 Marble Slab
- x5 Rough Amber
- x5 Sand Claw
- x3 Sand Shell
After crafting the station, simply interact with it to make a Cut Ruby in LEGO Fortnite. The Gem Cutter will refine the Rough Ruby to a Cut Ruby in the game. Once you have your hands on the materials, you use them to craft items and weapons.
