Stuck on the Jail tile while playing Monopoly with friends or family? Luckily, you have just arrived at the right place. There are several tiles or platforms in this board game on which your Token lands on each turn. There are platforms like Avenues, Chance, Community Chest, and the infamous Jail. A player that ends up in Jail has to go through several disadvantages. That being said, here’s what you can do to get out of Jail while playing Monopoly.
How to Get out of Jail in Monopoly
Here’s what you can do to get out of Jail in Monopoly:
Get Out of Jail Free (Card)
Using this card, any player can get out of Jail without paying any Monopoly Dollars. A Get out of Jail Free Card is available on both Chance and Community Chest platforms. If you have this card, keep it at the bottom and use it when needed only. Moreover, if you don’t have this Card, you can purchase it from any other player who has it.
Roll a Double
Another way to get out of Jail in Monopoly is by rolling doubles. This means the numbers on both dice should be the same. If you are successful in rolling doubles, then you can move your token based on the numbers rolled on the dice on the same turn. You can attempt to roll doubles for 3 turns. However, if you are unable to do so, then you will have to pay 50 Monopoly Dollars to the Banker to get out of Jail after the 3rd turn.
Besides that, if you want to move quickly, you can pay $50 before throwing the Dice to get out of Jail in Monopoly.
Note – Please keep in mind that you go to Jail only if it is a game command. Whereas, if you roll the dice and land on Jail casually, then you are safe. It will be counted as ‘Just Visiting’ and will not have any consequences. Hence, you can move from there without doing any task or transaction on the next turn. Also, whoever is in Jail shall not receive the $200 Salary amount.
