Elden Ring features a wide range of affinities that determine the attribute or stat scaling of an armament or other gear items. These different types of affinities also determine the attack, defense, passives, and damage negation of your gear. The Occult affinity is one of these affinities that adds up the Arcane scaling of the gear. This can help you to upgrade your weapon’s poison and blood-loss buildup. But how to get this affinity? Check out our guide on how to get the Occult affinity in Elden Ring.
How to Get Occult Affinity in Elden Ring
You can get the Occult affinity by using the Black Whetblade in Elden Ring. For that, you also need to apply physical or occult Ashes of war to your weapon. Once you apply Ashes of War, you can choose between mainly three affinities. These are Poison, Blood, and Occult affinities. So, choose the Occult affinity with your preferred Ashes of War for your weapon.
But that being said, there are a few weapons that cannot get Occult affinity. That’s simply because of their specifications or nature as Occult can be applied only to Melee weapons. So, here are all the weapons that cannot have Occult affinity:
- Light Bow
- Glintstone Staff
Furthermore, you can also use the Smithing Stones to upgrade your weapons. If you are unable to find the Black Whetblade, scroll till the end to find out.
Where to Find Black Whetblade
You can get the Black Whetblade by heading to the Nokron, Eternal City. You can find this Whetblade at the Night’s Sacred ground in front of an Altar near the corpse. All you need to do is simply, pillage the remains to get the Black Whetblade in Elden Ring.
Once you have acquired the Black Whetblade, you need to acquire the Physical or Occult type of Ashes of War.
