You should get Nightshade in Hades 2 as soon as you have the chance. This is a valuable resource that is needed for Incantations that you unlock as you progress the game. But unlock Moly, Lotus, or some other plants, Night shade isn’t a resource that you can walk up to and pick up. Rather you need to grow them yourself. While you get its seed for unlocking the soil spots, you will eventually need more. So here is how you can unlock its seeds and use them.
How to Get Nightshade by Growing Them in Hades 2
You need to use Silver Spade on Digging spots to have a chance at getting Nightshade seeds. These mounds of soil show up randomly in a room during your encounters. Collect as many as you can and after your run ends you can plant them in the Soil spots to grow them. It takes 5 encounters for a Nightshade seed to grow. Here is everything you have to do:
- Start by using the Flourishing Soil incantation. It requires Moly x1.
- Walk up to the cauldron at the Crossroads and incant it.
- Once you do, you get 1x Nightshade seed. You can plant it immediately, press R1 or RB next to a soil spot to open the menu and select it.
- Next, equip the Silver Spade and go down to the Underworld and look for Digging Spots. You can craft it for Silver x10 from the Gathering Tools tab in the Weapons area of the Crossroads.
- Now each time you see a Digging spot use your Silver Spade to dig out the seeds. While they are random you have a higher chance to find Night Shade in Erebus.
How to Use Nightshade in Hades 2
As mentioned before the main use of Nightshade is as a resource for Incantations. Aside from that you can also need to unlock Medea’s Aspect for Argent Skull. The recipes that use it are as follows:
