Sons of the Forest recently added the hang glider with patch 01 and players are looking for the locations where they can find them. Using a hang glider is a good way to cover distance and get from one position to another. The catch is though you need to be high enough to launch yourself from. How to Get the Hang Glider in Sons of the Forest
There are several Hang Gliders spread around throughout the map in this game. But the best place to look for them is at the very center, in the game’s snowy region. All of the locations mentioned below will have abandoned camps near the gliders.
- Near the Shovel Cave: The cave where you find the Shovel is very close to a Hang glider. Simply go southeast from this cave to the snowy mountains. You could follow the River trail to not lose your way. Once you reach the sides of the mountain make your way to the marked area and you will find your first hang glider.
- Middle of the Snowy mountains: Another place where you can find a hang glider is near the center of the snow biome. If you are coming from the east side then you can follow the river which stops in the middle. Keep following its trail and you should find one in no time.
- South of Snowy Region: A notable landmark to get here would be from the Maintenance Hatch B. Keep going east from here and you should get to the area where you can find the Hang Glider.
- North of Snowy Region: Similar to the above location, you can get this glider easily if you are near the Maintenance Hatch C. From the dig site simply go southwest and you will reach the location where the hang glider is.
There are still other locations where you can find hang gliders in the game. But the above 4 are the most notable ones and the easiest to get to.
How to Use Hang Gliders
You need to run and jump off a cliff or any other high enough elevation to use the Hang Glider for flying. Don’t worry the process is quite easy. Here is how you can do that:
- Go to any of the above locations and get yourself a Hang Glider.
- Hang gliders usually are in elevated regions but find somewhere higher if possible to jump from.
- Equip the Hang Glider and start running then press the jump button to jump off the cliff.
- Press the jump button again while in mid-air to start gliding.
- That’s it, you are now flying using your Hang Glider!
By default the controls are inverted, so when you move your mouse up your player should start diving down. If you fail to jump from a high enough location, you will just fall down and lose the hang glider. Don’t worry though it will fall nearby so you can easily pick it up again.
