As tragic as this may sound, you can’t get the Cucco out of the well in TOTK. And even if you manage to rescue and bring the Cucco out, it will despawn immediately. You will find the chicken respawning back in the South Akkala Stable Well. And understandably so, the Lost Cucco mini-quest/challenge will stay incomplete.
There are technically only a few ways to get Cucco out of the South Akkala Stable Well. One of them involves dropping a wooden wheel in the well and turning on the fan. You must then stand over the fan with Cucco and use the Recall ability to safely get out. But like we said already, getting Cucco out of the well is not the answer. How to Solve Lost Cucco in South Akkala Stable Well Challenge TOTK
To complete the challenge, you will need to put another Cucco inside the South Akkala Stable Well. You can pick up any Cucco from the stable and bring it down the well. The method might sound strange but it is the only way to solve the challenge. As soon as you place another chicken inside, the Lost Cucco will drop a single egg for you as a reward.
You can then exit the well and head back to the NPC Kaifa. He will now tell you that the sad squawking sounds have been replaced with happier ones. Kaifa will also admit that he is much happier knowing that Cucco is not alone now. So, that’s it, the correct solution is to bring another Cucco inside the well to keep her company. This will mark the end of the Lost Cucco challenge in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom.
