There are 8 different game modes in COD Modern Warfare 2. Each has its own challenges and objectives. Among them the most interesting ones are Knockout, Prisoner Rescue & Invasion. This guide will help you to understand what to do in these three specific game modes. Also, there is a list of all game modes and a short description explaining the main objectives and challenges.
What is Knockout Mode in COD MW2?
Knockout Mode is a 6vs6 match with a “NO” respawn rule. Both teams fight for a cash prize that is located in the middle of the map. Respawn is not allowed, but your team member can revive a dead player and bring him/her back into the match. There are three rules to win this mode.
- The team with Cash will have to manage to keep it under their control until the match ends.
- If one of the teams is able to eliminate every player of the second team.
- The first team to win 5 Rounds win the game.
In short, a team will have to win five matches to get the final rewards. The knockout mode requires teamwork because there is no spawn rule in this world. Team members will have to actively respond to each other and alert them about the enemy positions. The objective is to make their way first to the middle to grab the cash reward and then hold the position. Or if you plan to play aggressively then it becomes a kind of search-and-destroy mission. Find all opponents one by one and take them down. So these are the important details about Knockout Mode in COD Modern Warfare 2.
What is Prisoner Rescue Mode in COD MW2?
Prisoner Rescue is the classic mode of finding a hostage and then escorting him safely to the extraction point. One of your team members will be carrying the hostages to the safe point. In this mode, two teams have two different roles. One plays as a defender who prevents hostage rescue and the other is an attacker who executes safe extractions of hostages. Here are the rules of Prisoner Rescue Mode.
- Extract Two Hostages. Each Hostage carries 100 Points.
- No Respawn Mode. But Team can revive players.
- A team who wins the match will earn 500 Points.
If you are playing as the attacker your team will have to grab two hostages and take them to the extraction point. And then guard the hostages against defenders who will be stopping the extraction. A hostage left behind, who is neither carried nor captured carries 50 points. This will be given to the first team, who is assigned to the rescue operation. So as a defender your team must stop extraction as well as make sure no hostage is left. Or else the first team gets 50 points for free.
What is Invasion Mode in COD MW2?
In MW2 Invasion Mode you will be playing in a group of 20. This is best to test your skills, learn about maps and understand the game mechanics. If you are finding other modes thought then do try Invasion Mode. The objective is simply to take down the opposing team on a large map. Over 40 players in a team of 20 compete with other AI players.
- Players can use Vehicles, Killstreak Crates, and Armored Agents.
- The first team to reach 2000 points is the winner.
- Ground War Invasion and Invasion mode are quite similar, the only difference is the total number of players.
So this was about the three modes you can try to polish your skills and earn some good points. Here is a list of all modes in COD MW2 and their rules in short.
