In 99 Nights in the Forest, Diamonds (also referred to as “gems”) are the premium currency. They let you unlock new classes in the lobby and speed up progression. Here’s a quick guide on how to earn them without spending real money.
How to Get Free Gems in 99 Nights in the Forest
Open Chests
Diamonds can drop from several rarity levels of chests: Legendary, Good, Cold, Ice, Iron, and Gold chests all carry a chance to provide 1 diamond. Keep opening chests, especially higher-tier ones, to collect more gems for free.
Cultist Stronghold Runs
The Cultist Stronghold includes a Diamond Chest reward, giving 5 Diamonds per run. During special weekends with x2 Diamond bonuses, that reward can effectively double. Many players recommend repeatedly clearing the Stronghold (leaving and rejoining) to farm these diamonds efficiently.
Milestone Days
Survive through certain nights to unlock Diamonds as milestone rewards:
- Passing Day 50 gives you 2 Diamonds
- Passing Day 99 gives you 3 Diamonds
These are guaranteed and cumulative, so push through to those thresholds.
Badges or Achievements
Completing badges grants Diamonds equal to the star rating of the badge. So, make sure to claim these rewards when you unlock badges.
Redeemable Codes and Update Events
Developers occasionally issue codes that you can redeem via the “Codes” section in the Currency Shop. For instance, the code “afterparty” is active at the time of writing for 15 Diamonds.
Also, Update Party matches (held before updates) often spawn Diamonds dropped by admins. These events are short windows but can provide 20 to 40 Diamonds per match.
Fun Easter Egg: Fishing Chat Trick
This works only once but you can type “yay fishing” in chat while fishing, and it spawns 2 Diamonds near you.
These were all the currently available methods to obtain free Gems or Diamonds in 99 Nights in the Forest. Once you’ve used them to unlock your desired class, make sure to read all the tips and tricks to deal with the Ram, obtain Scorpion Shells for crafting and Sacrifice Totems.
