Hogwarts Legacy: How To Fly The Hippogriff Mount (PC, PS5, Xbox)

If you’re wondering how to fly your Hippogriff mount in Hogwarts Legacy, then you’re at the right place. Fans of the books and movies know that Hippogriffs are proud creatures and will harm you if shown disrespect. But as Harry and Sirius experienced, they can also be extremely loyal and can save you from terrible fates. Similar to the Harry Potter lore, you can use them as mounts and fly around in Hogwarts Legacy and this guide will tell you how.

How to Summon & Fly Your Hippogriff Mount in Hogwarts Legacy

To fly the Hippogriff ride in Hogwarts Legacy:

  • Press and hold LB / L2 / Tab to open the Tool Wheel menu.
  • Hit the Y / Triangle / 2 button to summon it.
  • Press A / X / Space to take flight.

The map of Hogwarts Legacy is huge, but your ride can fly faster to keep up. Once you’re in the air, here’s how you can get a speed boost on the Hippogriff:

  • Windows PC: Press the left mouse-click button to get a speed boost.
  • Xbox Series X | S: Press the LT button on your controller.
  • PlayStation 5: Hit the L2 button on your controller.

How to Unlock the Hippogriff Mount

To unlock this mount in Hogwarts Legacy, progress in the story till you attend the first Beast class. Here, you’ll meet Poppy Sweeting, a fellow student at Hogwarts. She’ll introduce you to Highwing who she rescued from the poachers. But you cannot it yet.

Progress further in the story and complete a quest called “The Elf, The Nab-Sack, and The Loom”. In this quest, Deek will give you a Nab-Sack to rescue magical creatures from the poachers. Then, follow the main questline till you reach a mission called “The High Keep”. In this mission, infiltrate the Falbarton Castle with Natsai Onai, fight Theophilus Harlow’s poachers, and rescue the two Hippogriffs. Then, you can rescue them at their dens and use them as mounts.
