You can find Hippogriffs at Hippogriff Den in Hogwarts Legacy. Each den usually has 2 or 3 of them. There are quite a few of them scattered throughout the open world of the game. Here are some of their locations:

  • Forbidden Forest – East from the West Forbidden Forest Floo Flame.
  • Poidsear Coast – Northwest from the South Poidsear Coast.
  • Hogwarts Valley – Northeast from The Mine’s Eye Floo Flame.
  • Manor Cape – West from the West Manor Cape.

How to Get a Hippogriff (Catching technique)

Here is how you can catch one:

  1. Equip the spells Disillusionment and Levioso. Also, set your Nab-sack in place of one of the spells to quickly access it.
  2. Fast travel to the nearest Floo Flame to the Hippogriff den. For this example go to the West Forbidden Forest and head east.
  3. You can use your broom or another ride to get there faster. Don’t stop in front of them else they will get alerted and might fly away.
  4. Simply, go to the Den’s Location and cast the Disillusionment spell upon yourself.
  5. Now, you will become invisible and the Hippogriffs won’t spot you.
  6. Simply sneak up on the one that you wish to tame and cast Levioso on them.
  7. Once it starts hovering, bring out your Nab-sack bag and capture one.

After it gets in your bag you will have tamed a Hippogriff.
