The Dogefin is a Secret fish added in the Second Sea region of Fisch. It has very specific conditions for being caught, and requires a particular Legendary bait as well. Here’s everything you need to know about this creature.
How to Catch Dogefin in Fisch
The Dogefin can be caught from the Open Ocean in Second Sea. It’s similar to the Ocean from First Sea, so if you have just unlocked the 2nd Sea, you’ll know exactly what to do.
Note that the best bait to use is Mist worms, which can be obtained from Tropical Bait Crates with a 9.68% chance of getting this specific bait. It pairs well with rods like the Challengers Rod or ROTFF, however, any enchanted high-tier rod of your choice with great stats will work.
Here’s how this bait can benefit your fishing:
- Resilience: +25%
- Lure Speed: +20%
- Preferred Luck: +100%
- Universal Luck: +80%
The best thing is that if you farm this bait, it can be useful to catch a wide variety of fish including Exotics, Mythical and Legendary fishes.
- Pupfish
- Veinspawn
- Phantom Brine
- Azure Prowler
- Screaming Fluke
- Bloom Tail
- Chasm Leech
- Pelican Eel
- Tartaruga
- Dreaming Aberration
- Dogefin
- Toilet Fish
So, make sure you have equipped this bait, and go fishing at Night time during Clear weather in the Winter season. Since it’s a secret fish, it won’t be easy to spawn it, so you can use multiple Luck boosts and stack them to have a better chance. It inflicts a -65% progress speed decrease so make sure you use a fishing rod with good resilience.
For some, using the Training rod, Flimsy rod or the Plastic rod (during Aurora Borealis in Summer at night) with the Weird Algae bait has also worked. So if the previous strategy doesn’t seem to be giving results, you can try this out.
Once you catch it, your character will quip, “bark bark” and “woof woof” due to it being a reference to the Doge meme, similar to the other meme-based fish of Toilet Fish.
That’s all about this fish. The Second Sea has multiple new rods that can be added to your inventory—here’s how to get the Azure of Lagoon, Blazebringer, Verdant Shear and Great Dreamer rods in Fisch.
