How to Complete the Rolan in the Shadows Quest in Baldur’s Gate 3?

Rolan is a character found in the Inn of Last Light. After noticing Rolan’s disappearance in Act 2, you must track him down to the ominous Shadow Cursed Lands. Talk to the children near the inn to learn that he has gone to the foreboding Moonrise Towers in search of his captive twins.

You’ll need to ensure that Rolan survives the journey to complete the Rolan in the Shadows quest. Stock up on healing supplies and bring a companion, as relentless shadow creatures will ambush your party.

Head south from the Last Light Inn, past the Tollhouse, until you reach a secluded and wooded area. Near a crumbling bridge east of the Moonrise Towers, you’ll find a despondent Rolan.

How to Find Rolan in BG3?

Once Rolan is in sight, the battle with the two shadows will begin immediately. Quickly use your abilities to draw the enemy’s aggression towards you and away from Rolan. Your priority is to keep Rolan alive – try using crowd control spells to incapacitate enemies while your healer focuses on restoring Rolan’s health.

If you can defeat the shadows, Rolan will return to the inn.
