Similar to other weapons in Genshin Impact, players can easily refine Festering Desire to the maximum level. Unlike other weapons, you don’t need to make a replica of this weapon. Instead, you simply need to collect a new item called Festering Dragon Marrow to refine it to the maximum level. Since Festering Desire can only be refined with Durin’s purified venom, you need to get Festering Dragon Marrow.

How to Get Festering Dragon Marrow
The official description of Festering Dragon Marrow reads:
Specialized refinement material for Festering Desire. This is the product of purifying Durin’s vile venom, which has seeped into and spread throughout Dragonspire’s ley lines. By using it on a bloodthirsty sword with a strong affinity for such materials, you can increase that sword’s power.
You can only get Festering Dragon Marrow in Genshin Impact from the Chalk Prince event shop. Yes, you read that right! You will have to shell out a sizeable amount of money to get this exclusive weapon refinement material.
There are four pieces of Festering Dragon Marrow and all of them can only be obtained by completing different event quests. Upon completing the first act of the event, you would not be given any piece as a reward. Those who really want to use Festering Desire in the game must purchase Festering Dragon Marrows from the event shop.
Each piece of Festering Dragon Marrow will cost you a different amount of in-game currency. The first piece will cost you 600 Glimmering Essence while the second and third piece will cost you 600 Warm Essence and 400 Miraculous Essence respectively.
