Joining the secret club is not part of the main quest but a side quest. So while you complete a little chunk of the main story, you are soon to come across the opportunity to be a part of the club. Once you complete your first lesson in Defense Against the Dark Arts, speak with Sebastian in the room. When he mentions the Dueling Club, you will activate the side quest called Crossed Wands: Round 1 allowing you to join the Dueling Club in Hogwarts Legacy.
Crossed Wand Duel Combat Tips in Hogwarts Legacy
Crossed Wand Duel will have three rounds and you can access it after speaking with Lucan Brattleby. Now you can get into a wizard duel in Hogwarts Legacy if you have learned some basic spells. Make sure that you know Accio and Levioso by now since you will need them in round 1 and 2. Also, note that each round of the crossed wand duel gets more difficult.
For Round 3 of the crossed wand duel, you will need the spell Incendio in order to win it in Hogwarts Legacy. But since round 3 will unlock after the main story quest Tomes of the Tribulations, you are soon to learn this spell. Once you defeat the red, yellow, and violet shields, you will win the Crossed Wand Duel. As a result, you will also get the Crossed Wand Champions Garb as a reward.
