Did Jandel Sell Grow a Garden? (Answered)

Updated Date :

If you’ve been playing Grow a Garden lately, you might have noticed players asking, “Did Jandel sell the game?” The community has been full of speculation due to a few vague developer messages. Here’s what might have really happened.

History of Grow a Garden Ownership

Grow a Garden is a popular Roblox farming simulator created by a young developer named BMWLux. The game became popular because of its relaxing gameplay and addictive progression format.

Soon after its explosive success, the well-known Roblox developer Jandel (from Splitting Point Studios) got involved. Jandel is known for helping create other major Roblox titles, which brought more attention to the game and took it to a whole new level.

Later, another team called Do Big Studios became associated with the project. But the recent updates and lower player count have sparked questions about who really owns it now.

Did Jandel Actually Sell the Game?

This is where the confusion starts. Some fans think Jandel sold the game completely, but that’s not what some information suggests.

Around April 2025, Jandel and Splitting Point Studios became co-owners of Grow a Garden, which means he joined the project by buying a share of it. A few months later, Do Big Studios acquired a portion of ownership.

There’s no solid evidence that Jandel sold the game completely or left with no stake. It’s more accurate to say his role shifted rather than ended. In short, he didn’t sell the entire game – he stepped back from being its main developer or manager.

A few things that have happened are:

  • Jandel has stopped adding messages in the official Discord’s Announcement server – DJ Jhai and Adrian seem to have taken over.
  • He posted a message about remembering the last six months, which many took as a farewell.
  • The game’s update pace dropped, making players believe the original team had changed or left.

While those signs point to a change, none confirm a complete sale. There’s no public statement clarifying exact percentages, but it seems to be a shared ownership situation.

What does this mean for GaG players?

From a player’s perspective, this doesn’t mean the game is ending. It just means different people are now helping manage it. This could mean a new direction in terms of updates and less direct input from Jandel as he focuses on other games.

Dedicated players who enjoy admin abuse events might see less of Jandel over time and more of other developers. However, there’s no indication that the game has been abandoned because it still averages about 600K concurrent players on a normal weekday.
